Nadia Nakai dropped a teaser video for her song "Don't Cut It" and it's hot. The teaser's done the trick and now we need more.
Nakai's EP, Bragga, was released on iTunes in September this year. It's the rapper's first release with Cassper Nyovest's label Family Tree. "Don't Cut It" is her third video release, following "Money Back" and "Saka Wena" ft Ice Prince.
The first lady of Family Tree comes in hot rapping about a "ni**a whose sh*t just doesn't cut it", telling him how his "sh*t's just like a butter knife".
"Don't Cut It" is the only track on Nakai's 5-song EP that does not feature another artist. The rest of the EP features members of Family Tree, including Cassper Nyovest, Tshego, Gemini Major and Yung Swiss. In a fresh take on the South African hip-hop game at the moment, each one of Nakai's songs on Bragga brings a new sound and a different take on the genre -- a break from the same sound that is dominating the South Africa's hip-hop and rap, borrowed from the US.
