Pizza bread recipe
Preparation time: 20 minutes, plus rising
Baking time: 30 minutes
Oven temperature: 180°C
1kg ready-made bread dough
500ml grated mozzarella
250ml ready-made tomato and herb pasta sauce
12 slices of salami
handful of fresh basil leaves
1. Put the dough in a large bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside to rise until doubled in size.
2. Divide the dough in half. Roll out both pieces to line two 22cm round baking tins. Press the dough so it comes up the sides of the tin.
3. Scatter ¾ of the mozzarella over the dough. Spoon the sauce over the cheese. Top with salami slices and the remaining cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Set aside to cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature.
