Rhythm City Producers to Pay Tribute to Dumi Masilela In Storyline

Producers of local soapie "Rhythm City" will pay tribute to actor Dumi Masilela through an exit storyline for his character, Sifiso Ngema.

Producer Yula Quinn said the whole idea behind the episode was to celebrate Masilela as an an actor and his character.

According to EWN,the memorial episode is being filmed because they wanted to make a statement about him as he was part of the Rhythm City family.

"The memorial will feature the cast commenting and talking about the character... He died so tragically we wanted to pay tribute to him, to his work with us," Quinn said.

The episode will be aired in October.

Masilela was shot and wounded during an attempted hijacking.

He later died in hospital during surgery.

He first stole South Africans' hearts when he entered IdolsSA in 2012 and then landed a role in the soap.
