We Think This Year's 'Idols SA' Wooden Mic Winner Is Among These 7 Contestants

The race is still on for this year's 'Idols SA' Wooden Mic and the competition is tight.

Every year when a new season comes along, thousands of people audition in the hope of progressing in the competition and ultimately walking away as winner.

However, for many who aren't so gifted in the vocals department, a wooden mic is the ultimate prize for being the best of the worst -- and as always, it is as highly contested as the main prize (and we're still not sure why).

We have rounded up five of our favourite and funniest auditions from this season and we think any of these contestants could actually be the winner.

1. Xolisa Buthongo
Buthongo's audition was so great that judge Somizo Mhlongo even created a hilarious scenario to compliment it because it was that worthy. You can watch his audition here.

2. Christopher Mthembu
Mthembu was one of the highlights of the auditions for us. What we loved about him was that unlike many who walk through the audition doors who often go there to make jokes, he genuinely believes he can sing. His song choice also left us all warmed up inside. Watch him sweep you off your feet here.

3. Zolani Jama
Jama's audition left us rather confused. We would like to have him back on the stage accepting his wooden mic on the day of the finale because we hope that he can explain why he auditioned while on his back. We'd also just like to see whether he'd bring the wire car this time around. Check him out here.

4. Ntokozo Tshabalala
We're convinced that he meant every word of that John Legend hit, "Stay With You", that he sang. Here's his audition.

5. Mijay Mankgela
Because he's just got "that thing" to can crack it as a wooden mic winner. Here's his audition.

6. Makaziwe Tshabalala
He's one of the people we hope can make it back and perform on stage on the day of the finale just like Mbishop did in season 12 when he took home the wooden mic. One can tell Makaziwe was in his element because even when his audition was unsuccessful he offered to sing another song. That's the spirit, right? Watch him do his thing here.

7. Thabatso Ledwaba
We actually think she aced that opera performance. The only problem is that she was at the wrong place at the wrong time -- she basically was in the wrong competition. We promise she will blow you away. Watch her audition here.

Mbishop's Season 12 crown is up for the taking and the power to decide who gets it next is in your hands.
